Master of Smart Health Services Management (MSHSM) — postgraduate option

The medium of instruction for the AY2026/27 intake is Chinese (CMI) only — courses are conducted in Putonghua and assessed in Chinese. Applications for the AY2026/27 intake have closed. Details for the AY2027/28 intake, including whether an English-medium (EMI) intake will be offered, have not yet been published (TBC). Do not assume English-medium availability for MSHSM.
The MSHSM is an interdisciplinary postgraduate programme bridging healthcare management with digital innovation, focusing on AI, Big Data and Health Information Management. TWC publishes a non-local tuition column for this programme. Programme Leader: Dr. Fowie NG. Classes are normally held at the Tsim Sha Tsui Campus on weekdays and weekends.
Structure and duration
- Full-time: 1 year · Part-time: 2 years
- 27 credits: 6 core courses + 1 elective + Capstone Project (6 credits)
- Opt-out route: Postgraduate Diploma in Smart Health Services Management (PgD (SHSM))
- QF Level 6
Admission requirement
- Bachelor’s degree (or an equivalent qualification at QF Level 5) in Healthcare, Information Technology, Management, or a related discipline from a recognised institution
- Shortlisted applicants will be invited to an interview
Language requirements by mode of instruction
EMI mode (all courses conducted and assessed in English) — for applicants whose prior degree was not taught/assessed in English: IELTS Academic overall 6.0 or above (at least 5.5 in each sub-category); or TOEFL iBT 74 or above; or CET Band 6 overall 500 or above with grade B in CET-SET.
CMI mode (conducted in Putonghua, assessed in Chinese): native Mandarin speaker; or a degree taught and assessed in Mandarin; or Putonghua Proficiency Test Grade 3 Level B+.
Students cannot switch or mix modes; the mode is chosen at application. The AY2026/27 intake is CMI only.[2]
