Does YD decide whether I can enter TWC?
No. Youth Dorm HK can help you understand the published information and prepare your next steps. TWC makes all eligibility, admission, scholarship and offer decisions.
Which TWC programmes are open to non-local applicants?
In the AY2026/27 official reference, seven bachelor’s programmes (Applied Psychology, Early Childhood Education, Applied Gerontology, Social and Business Sustainability, Health Information and Services Management, Biomedical Science, Forensic Biomedical Science) and two postgraduate programmes (Master of Smart Health Services Management, Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing) are open to non-local applicants. See programmes by Academic Unit. Programme availability is historical data / requirement and subject to change in future academic years and/or student circumstances.[2]
Can Malaysian UEC, STPM or SPM students apply to TWC?
Yes. TWC publishes official Malaysian routes: passes (Grade C or above) in at least 7 UEC subjects of which 6 in the same sitting, with UEC English B4 as an English route; or the STPM/SPM route with STPM/SPM English at Grade C. See the Malaysia entry page. These are AY2026/27 published requirements — historical data / requirement and subject to change in future academic years and/or student circumstances — and meeting the minimum does not guarantee admission.[1]
Can Singapore students apply to TWC?
Yes. TWC publishes a Singapore route: Singapore-Cambridge GCE Advanced Level with passes in 3 H2, or 2 H2 and 2 H1, subjects (English: Grade C or above in H1 General Paper), or a diploma from Ngee Ann, Nanyang, Republic, Singapore, or Temasek Polytechnic. See the Singapore entry page. These are AY2026/27 published requirements — historical data / requirement and subject to change in future academic years and/or student circumstances.[1]
Can Indonesian or Myanmar students apply to TWC?
Tung Wah College HK welcomes applicants with qualifications from many education systems. Indonesia and Myanmar do not yet have their own rows on TWC’s official entry-requirements page, but students can still apply with verifiable academic results — for example their school-leaving examination results (SMA Ijazah; BEHS / Matriculation Examination), or an international qualification such as the IB Diploma or GCE A-levels. TWC assesses the results against the entry standards of its programmes, all of which are accredited by the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications (HKCAAVQ) under the Hong Kong Qualifications Framework; no fixed TWC threshold is published for these qualifications. The Indonesia and Myanmar pages explain how applications with these qualifications are assessed. Youth Dorm education specialists can help confirm the right route — see the international qualifications page for the published routes.[1]
What nursing-related study is open to international students at TWC?
The Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing (PhD(N)) is open to non-local applicants and publishes non-local fees; it requires a research master’s degree (or first-class honours bachelor’s degree with research evidence), with IELTS Academic 6.5 or TOEFL iBT 79. See the School of Nursing page and talk to a Youth Dorm representative about the application steps.[7]
Is the Master of Smart Health Services Management (MSHSM) taught in English?
Not for the AY2026/27 intake: the AY2026/27 intake is Chinese as medium of instruction (CMI) only, conducted in Putonghua, and AY2026/27 applications have closed. Whether an English-medium intake will run in AY2027/28 has not yet been published. See the School of Management page and check the official MSHSM pages when TWC announces the next intake.[7]
Does meeting the minimum requirement guarantee admission?
No. Published requirements are the minimum for an application to be considered and are only part of the assessment. TWC makes the final decision.[1]
Does TWC offer entrance scholarships for international students?
TWC’s Entrance Scholarships for International Students are worth HK$30,000 each for the AY2026/27 intake, and TWC currently states that 20 scholarships will be awarded. Scholarships are nomination-based and decided by TWC under its official rules; renewal requires a cGPA of 3.0 or above. Details may change for future intakes and are not guaranteed. See costs and scholarships.[3]
Will I need to attend an interview?
Shortlisted applicants are invited to an interview and notified of the arrangements by email. TWC also contacts applicants by email about document or condition requests.[4]
How do non-local applicants apply to TWC?
Non-local applicants apply through TWC’s official application procedure, with guidance from a Youth Dorm representative — see how to apply. The non-local application fee is HK$200 (AY2026/27), non-refundable and non-transferable. Each applicant can submit up to three programme choices. Admission is rolling: applications remain open while places are available.[4]
Can TWC graduates stay and work in Hong Kong after graduation?
TWC is listed in Annex I of the Hong Kong Immigration Department’s ID(E) 991 Guidebook (April 2026 edition) as a Post Secondary College registered under Cap. 320, so TWC graduates may apply under the Immigration Arrangements for Non-local Graduates (IANG), which is quota-free and non-sector specific. Recent graduates applying within six months of graduation do not need a job offer and may be granted a 24-month stay. Nationality conditions apply: IANG does not apply to nationals of Afghanistan, Cuba and the DPRK, and for nationals of Laos, Nepal and Vietnam it applies only to UGC-funded programmes (so TWC graduates with these nationalities would not be IANG-eligible). See why study in Hong Kong for details.[5][8]
Can YD guarantee a scholarship or visa?
No. YD cannot guarantee scholarships, visa outcomes, accommodation or employment. These areas depend on official decisions and the student’s circumstances. See costs and scholarships for the current notes.
Where do non-local TWC students live?
TWC officially lists two dormitory options for non-local students: the TST Dorm (Youth Dorm) at 182 Nathan Road, Tsim Sha Tsui — operated by Youth Dorm HK — and, from the AY2026/27 intake, the Sheung Wan Dorm, about a 20-minute MTR ride from the TST campus. TST rents in the AY2026/27 guide (all-inclusive, per person, per month) are: Single HK$12,500; Double HK$6,270–HK$7,399; Triple HK$5,830–HK$6,148; Quadruple HK$6,580–HK$7,187, charged ×12 months plus a one-month deposit. Accommodation is separate from admission, and TWC makes all admission decisions. See the parent guide.[6]
